The NMDA is excited to host our first ever statewide meeting, open to all self-identified doulas. The meeting will be held on September 21, 2019 from 11 am to 4 pm in room 3710 of the North Wing of the Domenici Center on the North Campus of the University of New Mexico. Lunch will be served. PLEASE REGISTER BY SEPTEMBER 7TH (we cannot accommodate last minute registrations at this time). Access the registration form here.

Activities and presentations will include:

  • History of the New Mexico Doula Association, including mission statement and goals

  • “Expanding Access to Doula Care” presentation and discussion facilitation (including information on Medicaid reimbursement) by Steph McCreary of Tewa Women United and Esperanza Dodge and Denicia Cadena of Young Women United

  • Community-building among doula attendees

As of 9/3/2019 we have TWO travel stipends remaining. This page will be updated when all stipends are used. We are also taking donations for stipends! Email if you need a stipend or want to donate.

Unfortunately, we have determined that we do not have the funding or the capacity to offer childcare at the meeting. Although the event isn’t necessarily kid-friendly in terms of structure or content, kids (including nursing babies) are welcome!

This meeting is open to self-identified doulas and NMDA steering committee members ONLY.
